Search Engine Optimization has come a long way ever since the first search website was made. All throughout the years, web experts have discovered new ways to improve site visibilities and ranking. This would prompt the engine to penalize and remove the keyword or even the website from the indexed storage.
• Reach for the first page. When doing something, do it with 100 percent effort. Do not settle for the second page of the search results. Statistics show that the 10th website on the first page only has 3 percent of the clicks from a user. Don't tell me that you have to do the math for the second page. Always make sure that the website makes the first page of the search query.
• Do not stuff your page with keywords. This has also been a classic way on how to increase the visibility of a website. Filling it with the same or related keywords was effective in the past. However, companies have now added more complex algorithms and programs that evaluate the overall quality and keyword density of a certain website. The engine could penalize a website for over-saturation of keywords.
• Don't make SEO the only priority. Always give equal attention to the process and the overall appeal of the website. It should be user-friendly, and accessible by a diverse population of online users.
• Don't underestimate the internal links. These are vital elements in the ranking process of a website. Providing links on your site would allow a higher probability of being viewed by a random visitor. However, filling a single page with 5 or more links would be a futile effort because the search engine only takes note of the first link on a specific page.
• Don't give up. SEO has been made to be a long term process. No company could vouch for a one or two week visible result. The process involves patience, time and a lot of resources.
