It is common knowledge: social networking sites, particularly Twitter, are a must for a successful overall marketing strategy.

There are five key apps which will help you achieve your marketing goals while making your life easier and enhancing your followers’ experience.

* Social Oomph

Social Oomph is an all-in-one package that can be used for all of your social media accounts.
The best thing about Social Oomph is that it helps you manage your broadcast messages, especially the welcome message.

You can use this app to save and manage messages and schedule broadcasts. It’s sort of like Aweber for Twitter. It also auto-follows, tracks keywords and shows stats.

* TweetAttacks Pro

TweetAttacks Pro is a software program that garners targeted followers. It is also an excellent
tool for link building.

Twitter has a limit on how many followers you can acquire per day, handcuffing many apps. This app, however, will reap more followers for you than others because it’s not on the Twitter application-programming interface (API). It also offers scheduling and organizing options.

One of the best tools TweetAttacks Pro offers is its ability to weed out the bots and other fake followers so you have a list of only real users.

* Twylah

Twylah, a distinctive app, creates something similar to a Facebook fan page. It also automatically
creates landing pages and sends your followers there. This is called Power Tweet.

If you’re trying to sell directly, this app is an essential tool. I don’t recommend using Twitter for direct selling, however, because I don’t think it offers great direct conversions. Instead, I use it for list building.

You can also use Twylah to split your followers into different categories for multiple marketing campaigns.

* Tweet Spinner

Tweet Spinner is a tool that aids in organization and management. This includes scheduling, de-spamming your inbox and archiving. It also allows you to track followers and monitor statistics.

* Facebook’s Twitter Plug-In

Finally, I have to mention Facebook’s Twitter plug-in. This is a great tool that sends your Facebook
updates straight to your Twitter followers. It kills two birds with one stone, removing one more mundane task from your day. You can also use it to send tweets to your Facebook page.

Many of these apps perform similar tasks and everyone has a favorite. I recommend trying apps via free trials before buying. Some apps are completely free and some are so ridiculously cheap that you can purchase a month’s subscription.

See what works for you. It all depends on what you’re doing with Twitter – some apps are better for list building, some for selling and some for organizing.

Remember, the more you can automate your Twitter campaign with apps, the more time you have for developing other areas of your marketing strategy.
