How to Get Google to Crawl Your Blog More Often

SEO Articles
With such a large number of blogs out there on the internet, it's a wonder how search engines have the time to crawl them all on a regular basis. With blogs covering pretty much every niche possible out there how do you compete so Google visits your site more often? There are a number of techniques used by bloggers to get floods of traffic, but it is now clear that the best kind of traffic is that which is obtained organically, using natural methods.
Google will pick up and crawl web pages and blogs more quickly based on their relevance to their niche, and will crawl some more quickly than others centred on relevance, backlinks etc. When pages are indexed more quickly than others it will be because they are regarded as 'authority' sites which is based again on its relevance and value. It is massively important to increase this relevance and value to your market if you want Google to crawl it on an increased level.
Below are a few tips and tricks to use so that your blog is optimised to increase Google's crawl rate
• Update your blog everyday with fresh unique and quality content. By making the content unique it means that your pages will be indexed quicker as duplicate content is indexed very slowly. You should include your key words in the content, highlighting them using bold or italic effect, also making them anchor text. Do not over use the key words as this is key word jamming and can alert Google to some shifty tactics.
• Using correct labelling for your images. This is something people do not use enough or are even aware of. When you simply paste an image into your post there is a button on the image which you can use to label the picture with keywords. This is important as bots do not know images and cannot see them, they recognise the code, and so if you do not give it a unique keyword label it will see it as a bunch of numbers and letters.
• Link internally using key word anchor text. When using key words in your posts use them as anchor text for an internal link to another post on your site with relevance. This is an important technique when wanting Google to index your site; the internal links are just as important as the external ones.
• Increase the number of quality backlinks. A backlink is anywhere your URL is found on other websites and the bigger and better the website the bigger and better the backlink. One simple but very effective way to do this is writing articles and submitting them on different article directories including your link in the author resource box.
• Simplify your URL's, keeping them clear and easy to read. The longer your URL of any page the longer it will take to crawl and index. The URL of your pages is known as the 'slug' and can be edited so it reflects the main page, category and post title, making it simple and easy for Google to crawl.
It is clear now that the more organic the techniques you use, meaning the more natural, the more chance you will have of Google crawling and indexing your site faster. This speed of indexing and regularity of it will mean increased page rank and increased authority of your web site or blog.
