One of the biggest blogging secrets is to create as many blog posts as possible. This is because a blog post is a digital asset that allows a website to be found. Therefore, it makes sense to have as many blog posts as possible to gain as much traffic as humanly possible.
The truth about traffic is that one page is usually not enough to generate traffic. This is because it gives a website a limited amount of keyword inventory that the search engines can use to deliver results to their users. The higher amount of words on a website in particular can raise the search engine ranking potential of that website. This is not to say that trading many blog posts is the only answer to getting a lot of traffic, it really is not. However, it certainly does not help to have as many words on a webpage as possible.
Unfortunately, most people do is that they try to stuff their blog posts and pages with a high amount of keywords. The search engines are smart enough to figure out this tactic and they usually do not give credence to those websites that use this practice, as they tend to be spamming websites. Therefore, it makes sense to have as many blog posts that make sense grammatically. Search engines are getting more and more intelligent about content, what is good, and bad content based on grammatical facts.
Obviously, this all depends on having a niche where a lot of content can be created. There are some niches in which there are not a lot to say at times. However, this is a good thing because those niches will have less competition around them. An opportunity gap will exist for these niches and a person who can find a creative way to create content around that niche will do very well in that particular market space.
If a business makes the choice to maintain a blog, then they should have a content creation strategy around that blogging platform. There are far too many businesses that do not pay enough attention to their blog and their traffic suffers because of it. The content creation strategy is everything to a new blog and a business's potential to bring in more traffic to the site. A business should have a set schedule to release specific content on certain days. For example, posts on specific items should be released on Thursday, while moderating comments happen every day at three. A time based content creation strategy can help a business tremendously.
Blogging is a great activity; however, most people do not take it seriously enough. A person must blog often and as much as possible to increase the amount of assets that can potentially rank on the search engines. A business or individual must also have a specific timetable to help them get things done that need to get done. Finally, they must seek to stay away from the temptation to stuff their posts with keywords.
